Hello and welcome to Forgotten Shine Restoration!
We all love new things, but what else do we like? We love the feeling when we clean things up and they look shiny again, when something that was broken works again. And that's what this channel is all about - bringing old things back to life.
Restoring old tools or items is really rewarding, but also something soothing and good for the environment and for yourself. You renew yourself through these items.
But since not everyone has a garage or workshop where you can restore or repair old things, I decided to record what I do. And of course, to share it with you.
"The hunt is better than the catch". I try to find and learn new ways or methods to restore things, and you can join my journey if you want. Feel free to subscribe to my channel.
If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas, please leave a comment or email me at:

Staple Gun Restoration [Black Powder Coating, Liquid Metal]
Anyone who likes extremely old and antique things will love this restoration. Because this stapler has an embossing of “DRGM”, which means German Reich Utility Model. I had to work a lot on the lathe again, but my work also included drilling, grinding, cleaning, browning with vinegar, processing liquid metal and a lot more. If you like sandblasting, you will also get your money's worth in this video! The old stapler has not been transformed at all, this time it is a pure restoration. Stay tuned and have fun watching!
▶ What did I do?! ◀
In the sandblasting cabin, I removed rust and dirt from all the large parts. After sandblasting, I repaired the knob. Using liquid metal, a type of filler, I leveled out holes and unevenness in the main part and knob. I also used the ultrasonic cleaner to remove rust and dirt from the small parts. I made a new screw on the lathe because I had to replace one because it didn't fit the others. To protect the small parts from rusting in the future, I put them in hot vinegar, which is also called browning. I embellished the large parts with powder paint. After assembly, nothing stood in the way of a test to see if everything worked?!
▶ Good to know ◀
I used the following tools: screwdriver, tweezers, hammer, multifunctional tool, burr, pin punch, sandblasting cabin, corundum 0.2-0.8mm, drill, thread cutter, liquid metal, spatula, center drill, turning chisel, drill, lathe, battery-powered angle grinder, center punch, Sandpaper, vinegar, ultrasonic cleaner, powder paint, oven, screw lock

Machete Restoration - Knife Transformation [Ebony Brass Handle]
Anyone who likes extremely rusty, old things will love this restoration. More precisely, it is more of a transformation from a machete to a knife. I had to do a lot of work on the lathe, grinding, drilling, tapping, electrolyzing, hardening and a lot more... Since the original handle of this antique machete was no longer there at all, I had to make a new one out of ebony with brass caps. The pi...
Biggest Cleaver In The World Restoration
This is by far the biggest cleaver I've ever seen, I'd almost say it's the biggest in the world. We are going to restore this giant in this video. I will hardly use any new materials in the restoration, only what is no longer talkable. Just see for yourself... ▶ What did I do?! ◀ After removing the old wooden handle from the blade of this huge cleaver, I worked the metal on the belt sander and ...
Rare Double Cleaver [Black Blade With Kingwood Handle]

Anyone who likes old, rare things will love this restoration. I'm restoring an rare antique double cleaver! I have to work a lot on the lathe, grinding, drilling, thread cutting, working with chemicals and a lot more... I had to replace the old handle with a new one, this time made of kingwood. But I also worked with steel and brass. In the end, the antique cleaver will somehow look old and new...
Lamp Restoration [Easy Removing Patina From Brass, Sandblasting]
In this restoration of the old rusty lamp, I use simple means (flour, salt, vinegar) to remove the patina from the brass. In this project I also show you how I remove the rust from the parts by sandblasting, but my tasks also include sanding, welding, painting, filling, cleaning, polishing and working on the lathe. You can find out whether the lamp lights up again at the end in this video! ▶ Wh...
Axe Restoration [Satin Axe Head With Walnut Handle]
Remove rust with cola? That's supposed to work? In this restoration of this extremely rusty old axe I will try... But of course I will also restore the complete axe, that means I will harden, quench in oil and water, file, grind, polish, cut with the band saw and saws and more. It will definitely be hot because it burns, but also very cold when you quench it. ▶ What did I do ?! ◀ I remove the c...
Knife Restoration [Purpleheart Handle With Violet Epoxyd Liner]
I have again used a new type of wood in the restoration of this rusty knife: Purple Heart. The special thing about this wood is, as the name suggests, that it is purple. Unfortunately, the old handle could no longer be used. I cleaned the blade from rust and polished it, but a little bit of pitting is still visible at the end because I could not grind the blade any further; otherwise, it would ...
Screwdriver Restoration [Gold Plated Screwdriver With Golden Handle]
When restoring this rusty old screwdriver, I first removed the badly damaged handle. The antique screwdriver should shine in a whole new shine - it should be made of gold! Therefore, I gold-plated the metal part using electroplating and a gold solution. The handle was remade from epoxy resin and gold flakes. But also steps like grinding, straightening, hardening, polishing and work on the lathe...

Why a rust remover fluid when electrolysis can do the same job?
Where did you get the räuchermänn bbq?
Nice!

GOD.😊.
You know, it's wanted for jail? 🤪 Excellent restoration and great outcome 😊
poca idea...
Very good! I'm from Americana SP Brasil.
Madre mía... Con un destornillador quitando el óxido. Lo peor que he visto
Who was original manufacturer?
Aqui nada se cria nada se perde tudo se transfoma
Auch eine Bauernwehr. 😔
Kannst du mal bitte aufhören jahrhunderte alte Artefakte zu verschandeln?
Thats an 400+ years old Bauernwehr. And you ruined it. Stupid.
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for making a good video. It was really cool and impressive :D However, I thought that the quality of the Korean subtitles was not good while watching the video. I am currently a student who is studying related to a translator as a career path. If I translate the English subtitles of this video into Korean, could you change the Korean subtitles of the video? If it’s possible, I think it will be able to provide better quality subtitles to viewers in Korea through improved subtitles.
Your work reminds me of how a jeweler creates a work of art! Btw, what is the little turtle's name? Anyone that helpful must have a name!
Your video style is great, but the artifact chosen was beyond restoration.
Forse è meglio comperarne una nuova. Troppo lavoro e fatica!😢

My first thought when i heard you use the stapler after restoring was, 'shots fired' Great work
16:18 That's so great! I learned many great tips from your creative videos I subscribed to your channel to support you
Why do you move in slow motion?
Very bed work time west 😢
4:32 bro drank rust
The rust is only 10mm thick so it must be fake rust. :)🤣
Nice 😢😮❤
Fake
4:27 🤮🤮🤮🤮 you drank a chemical and rusty
Very good job 👍👍👍
Amazing job my friend congratulations
Fake fake fake
Excellent video! All the different angles of the sandblasting made my brain happy. :)
Ha caught turtle's reflection at 13:42
Det var bra, som alltid.❤
... SIMPLY AMAZING!!! 😊
DRGM (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) is a patent marking used between 1891 and 1945 and in West Germany in the post-war years.
Jesus Christ is Lord, King and Our Savior!
Savior from what?
Oh shut and stop forcing your cult on people you weirdo.
Heresy! Theres only one true church, that of the flying spaghetti monster. Begone heretic, quack, charlatan and knave!
From sin and death
Says who?
Really nice restoration, 1 thing: use a lot less powder when powder coating. Just in a line, now you waste way to much :)
I was surprised you had to punsh it to staple with it.
Your attention to detail is amazing.
